Since many centuries the clear, pearly look of the teeth has been considered an essential part of beauty. Thus, this has resulted in numerous concoction recipes that have been passed on from generations to generations that help the teeth achieve their lost natural color. In contrast to the general belief that prevails, teeth are designed by nature to last a lifetime.

What we fail to recognize as a race, is the of ignorance of dental care, which is important in maintaining a good health of our gums, mouth and teeth. This leads to degeneration of the health of our teeth and thus making them prone to discoloration, cavities and other dental complications.

One way to maintain the whiteness of the teeth and retain their natural gleam is the use of natural tooth products. This is the reason why many people all over the world prefer natural toothbrushes made from the healing plants. These brushes manufactured from the twigs of plants offer an option of disposable brushes along with the essence of the plants that is both refreshing and strengthening for the teeth.

Most of these plant twigs contain volatile oils, which boost blood circulation and gently scrape off the stains and plaque from the surface of the teeth, leaving behind a layer of useful minerals and other deposits that no toothpaste can ever match.

The plants which are known to work wonders for whitening the teeth include; oak, fir, marshmallow roots, horseradish etc. One can even opt for tooth powders made from the herbal extracts which are astringent and warm and help in detoxifying the teeth from the grime, debris and plaque.

Other than herbal treatments, there are a number of whitening toothpastes, which help in getting rid of the stains while polishing the teeth to effectively remove the paleness of the teeth. If used regularly, the whitening toothpastes are known to lighten the paleness of the teeth and reducing their yellowness to a great extent. Those who do not suffer from extreme discoloration can achieve the whiteness of teeth to the shade that they desire with the help of whitening toothpastes.

One very natural way of removing food particles from the mouth is by consuming apple after meals. However, do not forget to rinse the mouth thoroughly after eating an apple to free the teeth from its sugary content. Another effective method to stimulate the salivary glands of the mouth is by using ginger root, which is a self-cleaner.

All around the world, white teeth have been considered a priceless aspect of beauty, thus people engage in a number of treatments available in todays world to whiten their teeth. For many, who may not be suffering from extreme discoloration and stains, whitening strips can work effectively. They can be brought easily from the counter of any grocery store and used with ease at home.

If one wants to enhance the effectiveness of brushing, try dabbing the toothpaste with some baking soda powder. This is a known and easy way to bring back lost shine to the teeth. An apt dental care is the key to a lifelong beauty plan. One thing to keep in mind is that the shade of white for every person varies. As the teeth lose their protective layer that saves them from much wear and tear in the early years, the teeth shine and gloss starts to give in to the pressure we exert on our teeth, many times a day throughout our lives.

4 Steps In Applying For Undergraduate Degree In Dentistry}

Comments Off on 4 Steps In Applying For Undergraduate Degree In Dentistry}

Submitted by: Job Carto

So youve spent hours and days contemplating the profession you want to take for the rest of your life, and, perhaps because you liked your dentist or youre impressed by the ridiculous sum of salary, youve decided that you want to become a dentist. You researched and found that there are a lot of specialisations you can later on choose from, and feel like its going to be worth the price. Now what?

Applying for an undergraduate degree in UK involves a stringent process that only the serious and dedicated ones pass through (not always, though). In dentistry, there are basically four steps you have to take to ensure a place in a top-ranking dentistry school in the United Kingdom:

YouTube Preview Image

1. Sit the UKCAT dentistry. First of all, you have to know that not all dental schools in the UK use this admission test, so better check with your prospective campus first before taking it. The UKCAT stands for the ‘United Kingdom Clinical Aptitude Test’ and is used to assess your mental aptitude and ability. Important note: it is not a test of knowledge. Lasting for around two hours, it is divided into five parts: Quantitative Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Decision Analysis and Situational Judgement Test.

It is to be sat between July 1 and October 4 of the same year you are going to apply to Dentistry. The raw score you get here is not the important thing per se; it is the percentile score, the score that shows how you performed compared to others, that the higher ups are particularly interested with.

2. Send application to UCAS. The Universities and Colleges Admissions Service is a charity that handles the application process for almost all British universities. You can visit its main website to learn the specific details of applying for dentistry. If your prospective campus requires the UKCAT, pass the test first before sending your application to UCAS.

3. Compose a compelling personal statement. One of the most important requirements in applying for dentistry is a personal statement which details why you want to take up dentistry, any related work experience, extracurricular activities, other interests and hobbies, etc. It should give Universities an accurate portrayal of who you are as a student and as a person. It is on this document, along with your schools reference, that Universities will heavily base whether to give you a chance for an interview or not. The number one tip for creating a dentistry UCAS personal statement is never lie. Interviewers will go over your personal statement line by line, and will ask you specific details on anything they might fancy.

4. Pass the interview. If your personal statement, schools reference, UKCAT percentile score, and other requirements, convince Universities to grant you an interview, do absolutely everything to nail this down. Research the usual dental interview questions, practice your answers, and if you need to, seek dental interview tips from dentistry students and professional dentists. Prepare and give it your best shot, because if you fail and still want to pursue dentistry, you have to repeat the whole process all over again next year.

Selecting A Professional Teeth Whitening Product

Hugh J. Lara

Let’s face it: yellow and dingy teeth are not attractive. No one wants to smile when they have seriously stained teeth. You might have abused your teeth for years by smoking or drinking coffee, or maybe you took a medication as a child that caused your teeth to stain. Whatever the reason, dingy teeth are ugly teeth.

If you want to whiten your smile, you may have already tried over the counter and home teeth whitening products. Maybe you have already invested money in these products, used the most new teeth whitening product available and it still did not work. You do not want to waste any more money on teeth whitening products. However, a professional teeth whitening product might be what you are looking for.

Why Choose Professional

Choosing a professional teeth whitening product is a great choice for many reasons. If you have serious damage and stains on your teeth, over the counter and home teeth whitening products simply are not going to help you. They might be able to clean up your teeth a little bit, but on average the most that a home teeth whitening product is going to change your teeth is a couple of shades.

For anyone who has serious stains on your teeth, you know that a few shades are not going to cut it at all. You need something more than that to whiten your teeth. This is where professional teeth whitening products come into play. When you choose to go with a professional teeth whitening product, you will most likely get some type of guarantee from your dentist that this is going to get your teeth x amount of shades whiter.

You will go into the procedure knowing that your teeth are going to actually get whiter and that your stains will be minimized. In addition, you are going to be under the care of a professional so you know that you are safe doing this procedure.

Who to Talk to

If you want to use a professional teeth whitening product, you will have to go through your dentist to do so. Professional teeth whitening products are not available over the counter or through the internet. Even if you can find them in some sort of black market for professional teeth whitening products, you still should only use the in a professional setting. These products contain a lot of chemicals that could potentially harm you and your teeth.

Commercial Metal Outdoor Commemorative School Logo Park Benches

Comments Off on Commercial Metal Outdoor Commemorative School Logo Park Benches

By Patricia Holland

XPB Locker Supply sells many different models of commercial metal outdoor commemorative school logo park benches that are ideal for any type of school campus. They are so durable that repair costs are negligible, and replacement costs highly unlikely any time in the near future. Benches can display the names of schools, school founders, athletic teams, or emblems of the school mascot. A wide selection of colors and styles allow them to be matched to any building exterior as a link between architecture and the surrounding school campus landscape.

Powder-coated steel offers a number of advantages over cheaper forms of metal and wood. It is corrosion resistant in the face of the worst air conditions and inclement weather. It is also resistant to the marring and scratching that normal wear and tear can inflict on inferior grade materials. An additional protective coating of Thermostat further protects the metal from vandalism and exposure to the harsh UV sunlight. Thermoplastic-coated, commercial metal outdoor commemorative school logo park benches retain their color even after years of repeated exposure to the sun. It is never necessary to repaint them, and if they are vandalized, the coating can be resealed with the application of a simple heat gun.

Outdoor steel metal benches can be mounted in one of three different ways. Portable mounts allow benches to be placed in any location at will and moved to other locations when needed. Surface mounting allows benches to be bolted directly to concrete surfaces. Schools with rotundas, universities with fountains and ponds, or parent pickup areas are typically best served by this style of mounting.

However, many smaller schools may need to mount commercial metal outdoor commemorative school logo park benches in non-paved areas. These institutions can meet the seating requirements of their students by using in-ground mounts to position. In-ground mounts are steel extensions that attach to bench legs and set deep into concrete-filled holes in the earth.

Metal is perforated with small openings in order to allow rainwater to pass directly through the bench seat and back rest. This helps benches dry quickly after the rain so students can enjoy sitting outside on a comfortable surface. The back rest of each bench, however, is a solid surface onto which lettering can be manufactured. Even smaller commercial metal outdoor commemorative school logo park benches measuring only 4 feet in length still feature enough space to prominently display lettering that is clearly visible from a distance away. Custom images, such as the school mascot, can also be engraved on the bench back rest.

Bench sizes can range from 4 to 15 feet in length depending on style. Smaller benches are ideal for elementary school campuses. The largest benches are made for athletes on sidelines. Schools can select from a broad spectrum of color choices. In addition to standard black, red, and blue, there are more exotic colors available, such as granite. Natural landscapes are beautifully complimented by a number of shades of green. Different design styles also allow schools to match commercial metal outdoor commemorative school logo park benches to historical, traditional, or contemporary building architecture.

Call XPB Locker Supply now for more information on outdoor benches, picnic tables, bike racks, and other outdoor commercial furniture for your school campus.

When it comes to correcting the misaligned teeth, Invisalign is the most ideal solution. There are a number of benefits to be derived from Invisalign teeth straightening. Increasing number of people refrain from utilizing traditional metal braces in order to correct misaligned teeth due to their unsightly impact on a person s smile. Invisible Tooth Aligners are virtually invisible making it hard to detect. The aligners are removable for convenience in order to floss, brush or eat. The cost for Invisalign is much more economical in comparison to metal braces. Basic metallic braces are constructed out of thick metal severely impeding peoples ability to eat and clean their teeth properly and for some people to speak and if you get hit in the face accidently the metal can bite into the soft inner lip or cheek tissue. It takes some time before a person is accustomed to the thick metallic contraption. Invisible Tooth Aligners are constructed out of delicate material providing a snug fitting without affecting your speaking ability.

How To Prevent Allergy When Using Hair Dye?

Comments Off on How To Prevent Allergy When Using Hair Dye?

Get More Information Here:

By Jerry Hall

When his hair stylist switched to an indigenous hair dye he developed severe itching, erythema, crusting, and pustules on the surrounding skin. Now, what could have possibly went wrong?

Gago-Dominguez, a researcher, explained that small amounts of arylamines are absorbed through the skin during the use of hair dye. Don’t dye your hair without having as much of your skin covered as possible. One needs to be careful while applying black hair dye, as it is difficult to remove from any surface including skin and fabric. Lawsone dye infuses skin, hair, and porous surfaces but does not permanently or chemically alter them. Para-phenylenediamine, a key ingredient of many hair dyes, is known to trigger allergic skin rashes in some people. When you use hair dye, you absorb small amounts of chemicals called arylamines through your skin. It “dyes your skin more than your hair,” one well known researcher said.

What is PPD in Hair Dye?

YouTube Preview Image

Paraphenylenediamine (PPD) is a chemical substance that is widely used as a permanent hair dye. PPD hair dyes usually come packaged as 2 bottles, one containing the PPD dye preparation and the other containing the developer or oxidizer. The use of PPD as a hair dye is popular because it is a permanent dye that gives a natural look.

Why is it that many hand painting using Henna (herbal dye) develop skin rashes? After all, Henna dye used for hand painting is 100% herbal and does not contain PPD!

That’s because almost all henna-tattoo artists are mixing in black hair dye that contains paraphenylenediamine – ‘PPD’ for short. This mixing of chemical makes the hand dye more permanent, as the palm sweats a lot, the tattoo artist is ensuring that the ink remains for a longer period of time. If you develop skin rash after using a dark dye, you’ll be allergic to all dark hair dyes – anything that contains the PPD compound.

Currently there are no permanent oxidation type hair dyes that can be safely used by PPD allergic individuals. If you have an allergy to PPD and have your hair dyed, you should avoid the use of all oxidation type hair dyes. PPD is an occupational allergen among hairdressers; there is limited cross-reactivity with azo clothing dyes and back rubber. Those who are allergic to PPD hair dyes must avoid all synthetic chemical hair dyes.

Manic Panic hair dye works best on hair pre-lightened to a very light blonde. The idea being that it would look like she was a blonde who occasionally dyed her hair black. Apparently, the darker shades of hair dye contain significantly more chemicals than the blonde shades. The first step is to use the cheap blonde dye to bleach your hair. After an hour, rinse the blonde dye out of your hair.

Vitamins And Minerals Are Your Getting The Most From Your Nutritional Supplements?

Comments Off on Vitamins And Minerals Are Your Getting The Most From Your Nutritional Supplements?

By Anthony Thomas

Whether you eat a healthy diet or supplement your diet with nutritional supplements such as vitamins and minerals, you might not be receiving the nutrients you think you are getting. Why, because of a condition called malabsorption.

But what exactly is malabsorption? Very simply, it is the inability of the intestine to absorb one or more nutrients from your diet. These nutrients includes fat, carbohydrate, protein, vitamins, and minerals. Malabsorption is not a disease in and of itself, but a symptom of an underlying defect in some part of the digestive system.

Malabsorption can be caused by many things such as disease of stomach, pancreas, liver, and intestine. However, the most common causes are congestion of the gallbladder and clogging of surface used for absorption in the intestine due to compaction of fecal waste. While these conditions can occur in at any age, they are most commonly seen in older adults and seniors.

But what exactly are the causes of gallbladder congestion and compaction of the intestine? They are almost always caused by lack of maintenance of the colon and gallbladder. Yes, you can maintain your colon and gallbladder. How? By doing a colon cleanse and gallbladder flush. These natural remedies are alternative medicine to harsh laxative and gallbladder surgery and can spare you from colon cancer and a host of other chronic diseases.

YouTube Preview Image

Part of the process of digestion, is the mixing of your food with bile, which helps the body digest fats. Bile is stored in the gallbladder and is made from cholesterol, bile salts and bilirubin. If the bile contains too much of any of these substance, under certain conditions it will get harden into stones. Because gallstones are just harden bile, they accumulate in the gallbladder.

Over time, the quantity of these stones increases and takes up most, if not all the space in the gallbladder. When this happens, your gallbladder becomes so congested that there is no place to store new bile made by the liver. Since your body needs bile to help you digest fat and absorb nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, gallbladder congestion results in malabsorption.

The final stage of digestion is the absorption of nutrients through the wall of the intestine and colon. Unfortunately, for many people, the colon and small intestine does not work efficiently, mainly due to poor diet and lack of maintenance. Over the years, the walls of the colon and small intestine can become encrusted with compacted waste. This clogs most of the surface area of the intestine that is used for the absorption of nutrients. The result, depending of the degree of encrustation, is your body’s inability to absorb vitamins, minerals and other nutrients from your diet.

Because both gallbladder congestion and intestinal compaction are accumulative, they are, therefore, both progressive with age. Consequently most adults will have ome kind problems absorbing nutrients – whether from foods or nutritional supplements. These conditions progressively get worse with age until the ability to absorb nutrients such as vitamins and minerals is almost completely lost. This is why older people tend to be much thinner, since they can hardly absorb fats or any other nutrients for that matter from their diet.

Malabsorption generally affects people in their fifties and older. This can be a serious problem for people with osteoporosis and bone density disease. These individuals usually take some form of calcium supplement or medication to help control this health condition. But minerals, such as calcium, need other nutrients such as vitamin D to be properly absorbed in the body. Therefore, these individuals are unable to get the calcium they need, not only because they can’t absorb calcium, but because they cannot absorb the support nutrients needed for its proper assimilation in their bodies.

What does this means to you? Well depending on your degree of malabsorption, if you take nutritional supplements like vitamin and minerals, you could be pouring money down the drain, or should I say, down the toilet. Individuals who have done gallbladder flush or colon cleansing, have reported starting to really experience the benefits they expected from their vitamins and minerals supplements.

So next time you take a nutritional supplement, consider the possibility that you may not be getting your money’s worth. If you feel like you are not, you have two choices. You can either take more than the recommended dose in the hope of getting close to what your body really need. Or you can boost you body ability to absorb nutrients by getting yourself a colon cleanse as well as a gallbladder flush.
