Understanding The Drawdown In Automated Forex Trading Systems

Submitted by: Winsor AGA Hoang

Michael Jordan was one of the best basketball players in the world. So what do Michael Jordan and automated Forex trading have in common? It is known in sports terminology as a cold streak or slump. Michael Jordan has missed more than 9000 shots in his career. He and his team have lost almost 300 games, and he failed to make the final game winning shot more than 25 times in his career. Does this make him a poor basketball player because he has failed over and over again during his career?

An athlete will go through a losing streak, and every trader will go through a similar losing streak, a period of consecutive losses with no profitable trades. In trading, this term is defined as drawdown, and it can be defined as a percentage or a number. Regardless of whether you are trading manually or using any automated Forex trading systems, you will experience a period of consecutive losses. It does not matter if you are Michael Jordan of the basketball world or the Warren Buffett of the investment world, everyone will face losses during their career or investment period. Losses are inevitable, and as investors/traders, we cannot avoid them. Trading involves both risk and reward; hence, it is impossible to obtain any type of reward without involving some risk.

An automated Forex trading system cannot avoid a losing streak; however, it is with proper money management that it can minimize the losses during the cold streak. For example, if an automated Forex trading system has a maximum drawdown of $3,000 using a 0.1 standard trading lot, it is not advisable to start trading with this system using $5,000 as starting capital. If you are unlucky and a drawdown immediately starts right after you have turned on your automated Forex trading system, you will see your trading account going from $5,000, to $4,000, to $3,000, to $2,500 and then to $2,000. In this example, you just experienced a losing streak of $3,000, or a 60% drawdown.

Before using any particular trading systems, you want to know what is the largest loss you can face when an automated Forex trading system starts incurring losses due to changes in the volatile Forex market. You must understand that this is a temporary worsening condition of a trading system. This period is the trading risk, and it will pass. With this risky period, a good trading system will recover and provide you with ample rewards (a.k.a. profits). Depending on your level of risk tolerance, a 60% drawdown is quite extreme in one s trading account. If you know that the drawdown is $3,000, you may want to start trading with $10,000 instead of $5,000. During a losing streak of $3,000, you will only experience a drawdown of 30%, which is a lot more tolerable.

Be a good investor scout and always prepare for the largest losing streak during your investment period. A drawdown period can be as long as three months; hence, don t jump from one system to another system looking for the Holy Grail. If you have found a profitable trading system, stick with it during its three months drawdown period and you will be handsomely rewarded for your patience. Alternatively, follow a profitable automated Forex trading system and wait until it starts losing and then jump in. Just like Michael Jordan of basketball, after missing three baskets, he will likely score on the fourth basket, so don t give up on him too early.

Technologies Trend That Will Change Transportation Industry Forever!

Transportation technology is undergoing a revolution. Emerging technologies are increasing the performance of conventional modes of transportation, while new inventions are positioned to completely revolutionize the way we progress. The transportation industry, like every other industry, is adopting technological trends to improve productivity. However, it is important to note that these technological trends will not only improve productivity but will also transform the transportation industry forever!

All over the world designers and scientists are working on new types of transport that will allow us to grow faster and further than ever before.

In this article, we’ll point out some of the most promising and amazing future transport concepts that are being worked out right now.

Trends Technologies in Transportation

The following technologies have propelled themselves to the forefront of the most recent transportation revolution.

1) – The Hyperloop, a pet project of Elon Musk’s companies Tesla and SpaceX, is perhaps the most revolutionary transportation technology currently in development. The best way to describe Hyperloop is as a type of vacuum train, a long tube in which passengers carrying capsules travel at incredible speeds in a vacuum. That means it moves without friction and has the potential to reach speeds of more than 750 miles per hour.

2) – Development of Median AMB vehicles has revolutionized the way road accidents are being managed today. A road traffic accident that happens on a highway is likely to be more serious than a road traffic accident that happens on a regular road because of the speed involved. Unfortunately, the response time that it takes for emergency service vehicles to reach the site of a highway accident isn’t always great because of congestion and also because of the distance between hospitals and medical facilities. That means the people who need emergency assistance the most will often wait for the longest.

The invention of the median AMB vehicle may change all that. The narrow high-speed ambulance uses the medium strip of a highway as a track racing up and down it without being encumbered by other traffic.

This means it can get to the site of an accident quickly, pick up anybody who needs treatment, and then evacuate them to the nearest toll booth where they can be loaded into an ambulance. This concept will save a lot of lives in the near future.

3) – Ideas like the toyline jar twin metro train might change the way that public transport is thought about and make people more likely to use it. This is a futuristic double-decker train that runs on super-powerful magnets. Many major cities would like more of their population to use public transportation as opposed to driving to and from work because public transportation is usually more environmentally friendly than driving a car and creates less congestion and also solves the parking issues. Donald Shoup, a distinguished professor in the field of urban planning and mobility rightly says that “Intelligent transportation technology is key to better parking management”.

Conclusion

To sum up, it is right to state that the transportation industry is adopting technologies and going through major changes. These changes will not only benefit the transportation industry but also all the people around the world.

The Most Eloquent Speech I Ever Heard

This is Our Finest Hour? I Have a Dream? No, nothing like that. This is a speech of 2 words I heard the other day.I was in a hospital getting a chest x-ray, a prerequisite for surgery on my broken ankle. Its been two weeks since it happened, two weeks full of pain, change, and coping. Ive described how it happened, learned how to get around the house on crutches, visited doctors and labs, waited on x-rays, and asked neighbors to get the mail and groceries. Ive also been put through the pre-op battery of tests blood tests, EKGs, chest x-rays, and discussions with my doctor, who felt the best approach was surgery. In my EQ Alive! program, which trains and certifies EQ coaches, Ive participated in the weekly EQ Check In along with the students. We tell each other how we feel physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. We begin each teleclass that way, and listen closely to the answers. EQ competencies include emotional expression, and also Integrated Self, being in touch with all aspects of yourself. Most of all it means not engaging in the meaningless, How are you? Fine.In a shutdown and coping mode, I thought I was being realistic about how I was feeling. I said I was in pain. I said I was physically slow and the painkillers had dulled me mentally, and that spiritually things were the same as ever. What more was there to say? I never gave it a thought. So there I was in the hospital. Id been sent to the wrong place and walked about a mile on the crutches to find that out. I was accepted, however, thanks to the work of a nurse named Lupe with very high EQ who just pushed the order on through. And then, mercifully finally in a wheelchair, Id been wheeled to the x-ray waiting area and left in the hall. As I sat there, a woman on a stretcher was wheeled up. I could tell she was sick. Her hair hadnt been washed in a while and she had a nose tube for oxygen, and a tube in her arm. Her color didnt look good and she barely moved. She reminded me of my dad the last time I saw him in the hospital. She was accompanied by two women. The first one went over to sign papers, and the other one walked off down the hall.A technologist walked out toward the woman on the stretcher when I heard the speech that touched me so. I think she thought he was coming to take her into the x-ray room.Im afraid! she cried out.God love her, I thought. So am I! I tried to get out of my chair and go to her, but the technologist beat me to her. Speaking to her in her native tongue, Spanish, he rushed to her side, took her hand and started soothing her. Abuelita, he called her, little grandmother, a term of endearment. A nurse brought out a screen to give her privacy and she quieted. She quieted and I thought: Why is it so hard to get to Im afraid? Of course Id been afraid the whole time, from the moment I heard the bones turn in my ankle. I started repeating, Please dont let it be broken, please dont let it be broken. There was no way to tell, and I was left with pain and fear. Was it broken? Is this because my bones are getting old and this is just the beginning? Will this mean arthritis pain for the rest of my life? Will the insurance cover it? What on earth is my deductible? How can I ever manage this at home alone? Will it need surgery? General anesthesia? Will I survive it? Will they have to rebreak it like one neighbor says, and put in 6 screws like the other one says? What will happen? I shut all these things down and used words like tired and in pain, but at the core, yes, I was afraid. Fear of the unknown, and fear of being helpless and dependent.I was also afraid of the fantasized reactions of others, having come from a family of shame and blame. I think nothing will ever happen to me that I wont feel like I caused it and was a bad girl because of that. Words from an overwhelmed, shame-and-blame mother who saw everything as simply more work for her. Whatever caused the ankle to break, I shouldve known better, I shouldnt have done it, I shouldnt have been there, and I should never have let it happen as if I were omniscient and omnipotent. That means all-knowing and in control of everything in the world. It was family that taught intellectual words, not feelings. Old childhood fears. In line with, Whatever it is you fear has already happened. And at that particular moment in the hospital corridor, well you never know what will turn up on any chest x-ray, no matter why its required. Nor had the results of the EKG come in yet. What if I went in with a broken ankle and came out with a bypass? Or worse yet, out the back door on a stretcher. Its been known to happen. As J. Powell says in Why Am I Afraid to Tell You Who I Am? emotions are not moral (good or bad). Feeling frustrated, or being annoyed, or experiencing fears and anger do not make one a good or bad person [a weak or strong person.] But this is theory. In our day-to-day lives most of us blame ourselves for our feelings. And if we judge them to be bad, or unacceptable to us in some way, we bury them.So there I sat in my wheelchair, silent and alone. And there was Abuelita, expressing her fear and getting comforted. Its an old lesson: People care. If we say were afraid we can be comforted. If we dont, we cant. All studies show that people do best who have a strong social support network, and if you dont say WHO you are and HOW you are, you arent getting the connection that sustains you. You remain alone in the presence of others, which is the loneliest youll ever be.And let me close with the words of the technologist who finally did my x-ray. Dianna was her name. She read the name of my company, Emotionally Intelligent Solutions, on the chart. Whats that, she said, Is that like Im to the point where I cant stand any of my co-workers any more and I think theyre dumb and ignorant and feel like Im about to explode,Yes, EQ is about that, too!The woman works two 16-hour days, physical and demanding (how on earth do you do that?) and has three children at home. I gave her my card. I hope shell call me. It may not be her co-workers that are the problem. And thats the power of Emotional Intelligence. If you are the problem, you are also the solution, and Emotional Intelligence is the bridge between the two.

One of the most popular toys today is a remote control or RC toy. These toys allow a child to use a joystick or something similar to control the motions of the toy. The most common RC toy is a remote control vehicle. You can find these in just about every shape and size imaginable, from a tank to a motorcycle.

However, the one drawback to such a toy is often the price. These toys can range in value from under twenty dollars to several hundred dollars. There are a few ways you can save money on these toys and here are some tips to help you.

Visit the Mega Size Toy Stores

Many of the larger toy stores will buy products in bulk and pass their savings onto the customer. You will usually find a larger selection of RC toys as well. Most will have weekly or monthly sales and you can check the ads in your local paper to plan your shopping accordingly.

Shop During the Holidays

One of the best times to shop for remote control toys is during the holiday season. This is when all of the good sales happen and when quite a few newly released toys hit the market. There are always huge sales right after the holiday as well. This can be a great time to pick up a birthday present or two.

Visit a Hobby Store

Remote control toys arent just for kids. Many adults consider them a hobby and spend thousands of dollars each year on keeping up with the latest developments. The hobby stores that serve this segment of the population are a terrific place to look for these toys. You can find new toys, used toys, and parts for repairs. Best of all, you can usually get some great advice on using your remote control toys.

Browse the Net

Online shopping isnt just for clothes! You will find entire websites dedicated to remote control toys. If you find a toy that you like, take a moment and look for a coupon code. These online discount codes can offer a wide range of ways to save some money, such as with codes for free shipping or a percentage of your total purchase.

Stores such as NitroRCX, offer both types of codes. This lets you choose which one can save you the most money. Nitro Planes gives you free shipping on all of their replacement parts. As quickly as shipping charges seem to rise, these can result in a significant amount of cash in your pocket.

In Closing

Remote control toys are a fun pastime for many people, but often the cost of the toy can be a drawback. With the above tips, you can find several ways to save that money. Shop online and use an online discount code. Check out the nearest remote control toy stores. For children, shop the large chain toy stores at or after the holidays. What To Expect In A Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique?

By Terry Small

Allergic reaction is one of the common health problems with people who have sensitive skin or low immunity against allergens. There are methods though that are quite useful and successful in treating this condition that are non-invasive, pain-free, and without relying on drugs.

Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique or N.A.E.T, is a non-invasive type of treatment that uses all natural methods in examining, preventing, and getting rid of allergies in a patient. The therapy was developed with the combination of various essential elements found in reflexology, acupressure, applied kinesiology, chiropractic neurology, and in Oriental medicines.

If you are new with the natural healing art, you can expect quite a few things from the therapy that you may have experienced from the other medical care. There are also preparations that are standard procedures done during and after every therapy session regardless of the type of treatment you are taking. A good example of these preparations is the eating of light meal prior to any therapy to avoid discomfort during the treatment session that usually involves bodywork.

Here are some of the things you will experience during the therapy session:

— Energy Work – it is a principle and practice that is common in Oriental types of treatment which is focused on the balancing life force which is responsible for a healthy condition both inside and outside the human body.

— Detection of Allergen – this portion of the therapy session is usually done with the basic methods that you can find in an applied kinesiology therapy. Actually, it is the brain that detects these harmful substances that invades the body during the process.

— Elimination of Allergic Reaction – by working on the body meridians in unblocking the energy flow through the pathways, the body and brains responds by getting rid of any intercepted allergens out of the body. Usually, it is done by stimulating the nerve roots around the spine of the client that are actually key areas of the body. The body then is examined again to check whether the therapy was successful in fully annihilating the allergens.

— Number of Therapy Sessions – the question regarding how many times should you visit your therapist or N.A.E.T practitioner really can only be answered by the one who is providing the treatment for you. Basically, at the start of the therapy session, a medical assessment is done on the client to get a better view of the whole condition of the person being treated for the therapist to know how much medical attention is needed.

— Things to Avoid – although there are dramatic and significant improvements from the medical condition, the client still has to be extra careful and cautious before going back to the stuffs he or she usually does. Any contact with the detected and tested allergens should be avoided for at least the following 25 hours right after having a Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique. This is done in order to make sure that the body properly eliminates and completely gets rid of the element that causes the allergic reaction.

School Uniforms Good Or Bad? Part I}

Click Here For More Specific Information On:

School uniforms – good or bad? Part I

by

Adam Nowak

1. Deroticed schoolgirls

As usual, people believe that squeezing children into school uniforms will prevent sexual abuse, rapes, etc.

This kind of argument is similar to the one saying that “she provoked him and she is to blame”. People who share this opinion should see on the Internet how great of an erotic fetishism the school uniform is for men! All the laughter from people who hear that argument will be the best evidence that what I have just written is very true. That is why I would firmly stick to that reaction.

Unless you’re going to persuade the ladies who don’t get what you’re talking about – they’ll probably stare goggle-eyed at you with astonishment. The results on the Internet should open their eyes to that problem. It’s also typical that in countries where uniforms are most popular – for example, Great Britain or Japan – they have the most erotic connotations.

Evidence for that can be found in Google. If one looks for “school uniform” in Google, one will encounter pages presenting uniforms as erotic fetishism. Yet, once you insert “schoolgirl” or “school uniform” in Google, you’ll be flooded by a great number of pornography sites!!!

Summing up, if anyone believes that girls in uniforms will be safer, is definitely wrong. On the contrary, this kind of clothing may just attract more deviants.

2. Uniforms will prevent fashion and vanity ecstasy

a. Uniform requiring clothing of a specified colour and cut e.g. white blouse/shirt; navy blue sweater/cardigan, grey skirt/trousers. But the school doesn’t impose any shop or brand.

The ‘fashion parade’ will stop only seemingly, because the need for individual expression cannot be suppressed by uniforms. Children and teenagers will certainly find other ways to emphasize their distinctness, and to show their alleged superiority over other children. Thus, if a school uniform consists of a navy blue sweater/cardigan/shirt and grey skirt/trousers, one child will have the most expensive, designer sweater/cardigan/shirt and designer skirt/trousers, while the other will wear old, stretched rags. Where is that equality?

One cannot compare two sweaters just because they have the same colour and name. People who are still in favour of introducing school uniforms, should familiarize themselves with experiences in that field taken from other countries.

In Belgium, for example, there are private schools which require uniforms and this leads to fanatic attitude on behalf of the children towards these clothes. That is because of the fact that by depriving somebody of their identity, it will turn into a complete obsession. Kids in such schools go nuts and feel excessive pressure not only to possess the best and the most fashionable clothes, but also those of the “right” brand.

As I’ve written before, one grey skirt cannot be compared with another, even if its cut or length are firmly determined. Commercial companies easily make use of kids’ obsessions and compete to produce such cool stuff. It also has an appropriate price!

Thus, any parent who thinks that their children’s obsession with clothes will come to an end, is mistaken. It’ll be just the opposite, because both bans and orders result in resistance. The stricter these bans and orders are, the bigger resistance and obsession among people of different ages they cause. So, not only among adults, but also among children and teenagers.

The ban on wearing designer labels won’t change anything either, because producers will find the gap in the market at once. They’ll start producing clothes without any logos, but which can be immediately recognised by children as the better ones. The quality, as well as best cut are easily noticeable.

Those who remember times when they wore school uniforms themselves, should be aware of the fact that they’ll not eliminate any fashion parades, competitions or condescension acts. People should remember themselves and talk about what they did when they were that age in order not to be deprived of their individuality. Uniforms didn’t change anything in the schools that I attended.

b. Full uniforms – they’re bought in one shop and they are all of the same quality, have the same cut, including shoes and bags – however, they’re quite expensive.

Such uniforms will be out of reach for many children. There’ll be children possessing only one such uniform.

Not to mention the fact that introducing identical uniforms will cause a hellish temptation of corruption. Because, who is to decide which shop will provide children with uniforms?

Imagine the hell a child will have to go through, when possessing only one uniform? His/ her uniform will be much more worn-out in comparison to other children’s uniforms. So where is this alleged equality? It’ll be also more often dirty, because it will be washed only during the weekend. And what about winter, if it doesn’t dry until Monday?

Of course, we assume here that a schoolchild has responsible parents, and that they won’t forget to clean and iron the uniform. At the same time we realise that this is not always the case. There are children whose parents won’t care about their child having a clean uniform every single week. Parents don’t have time, they forget, are tired, or simply drink, etc. And then what? What should such a child wear to school? A dirty uniform? A wet uniform?

Of course, one child will have a few uniforms and they’ll always be new, not worn out, neat, clean and ironed. At the same time, other pupils will wear dirty, worn-out or even ragged uniforms. They may also be too small, because there can be a case when parents don’t have enough money to buy a child a new uniform, when the old one doesn’t fit any more.

We shouldn’t forget that as many as 30% of children in Poland live in poverty and don’t have anything to eat. They don’t have enough money for school equipment or books, let alone buying a new uniform.

That will only be extra expense, because everyday clothing can be found in second-hands for peanuts. A uniform cannot.

Apart from that, should all parents be obligated to keeping their child’s uniform clean and ironed? What if they don’t fulfill their duty? Can a child, in such a case, wear other clothes at school? Following this thought, a child who has such irresponsible parents will surely feel discriminated by other children? Finally, everybody will realise that such a child has parents who don’t take care of him/her. This is an ‘ideal’ reason to tease and persecute the child! Why should children suffer the negative consequences of being neglected?

Yet another matter concerning the alleged equality of the children in uniforms.

At once there’ll be established schools that are “better” and “worse”. Richer children will attend one school, and the poorer a different one. As every school will have its own uniform, it’ll be easily noticeable which school a child attends. So, there is a great probability that children outside the school ground will be treated with contempt, hate or envy.
